Gilson Pond is a nice lake to visit. Gilson Pond gets a common amount of precipitation; August is the wettest month with most rain while February is typically the driest month. Poole Reservoir is a brilliant lake near Gilson Pond, and playing golf is lots of fun at Shattuck Golf Course. During the warm months at Gilson Pond highs are ordinarily in the 80's while night lows are ordinarily in the 50's. Highs through the winter are ordinarily in the 20's while

River. Lakes? Sure, Thorndike Pond is nearby, and a great place to camp here at Gilson Pond is Emerald Acres. What a spot this is for outdoors folks. If you need a place to stay Best Western Sovereign Hotel is a magnificent choice.
Near Gilson Pond you stumble on the Pumpelly Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail; there's whitewater on Ashuelot River - South Branch for all you adrenaline kick people. This lake is so wonderful. Gilson Pond is delightful enough
to spend more than a day at, Monadnock State Park Campground is a delightful local campground, and Woodbury Hill can be spotted from Gilson Pond.

I've seen great blue heron, ducks of many varieties, Canada geese and even two bald eagles. It's easy to surprise beaver early in the morning as well as muskrat and oppossum. I haven's spotted deer yet, but have heard them crashing off into the brush when I paddle too close to shore in the morning mists.... |
