This lake is so wonderful. Manning Lake is a glorious lake in the neighborhood of Gillan Pond; if you need a site to stay The Margate Resort is a splendid choice. For the period of the summertime months highs here at Gillan Pond get into the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's; overnight lows during the wintertime for Gillan Pond tend to be in the       0's. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to bump into some wonderful people from Laconia here, and charming scenery and good skiing is what you obtain at Abenaki. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Take a side spree to Nelson Brook, and hey, Gotta ski right? Gunstock is a nice site to do that. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Suncook River, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Onemile Trail. Going for a hike                  on the Campground Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and a great sight of beautiful Cogswell Mountain is available. A beautiful lake like Lake Eileen close to Gillan Pond is a nice place to take a look at, and you don’t have to go far from Gillan Pond to see the water at Gillan Pond Dam. Near Gillan Pond you come across the Catamount Trail which is a great hiking trail; Gillan Pond is a good site to visit for more than one day, Bay Hill Campground and Cabins is a good site to camp nearby. Gillan Pond is a wet site that gets much precipitation; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Stay the night at Sun River Campground, and a perfect close by hotel is The Landmark Inn.
