For the duration of the days of summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Giles Pond, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's; nighttime lows all through the winter for Giles Pond tend to be in the 0's. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of       nearby Ragged Mountain, and if you need a place to stay Super 8 Tilton/Lake Winnipesaukee is a tremendous choice. What a place this is for outdoors folks. This lake is so wonderful. A quick visit to Cate Brook in the neighborhood of Giles Pond is a fine idea, and a good place for whitewater paddling is Winnipesaukee River. Now, you may assume that's a load but there's even more amusing stuff to do here in the White Mountains. The Prospect Trail is a great                  hiking trail in the vicinity of Giles Pond; Giles Pond is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Pine Grove Campground is a perfect local campground. And if that's not enough there's loads more entertaining things to do in the White Mountains. Nearby lakes? Sure, Giles Pond is near Giles Pond; nearby you come across the Melton Falls Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. This is a tremendous vicinity for folks who like lakes. Pemigewasset River Reservoir is a lake in the vicinity; if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the The Wall Trail. From a rain point of view Giles Pond is a relatively common site; the month with most of the rain is May; the driest month is January. Giles Pond Dam is worth stopping at while you're here, and Tenney Mountain is a very popular ski area in the vicinity. Giles Pond is one of the lakes here in the White Mountains.
