The Wapack Trail is a wonderful hiking trail close to French Pond; camping is available at       Mile/Away Campground. All through the summertime at French Pond temperatures are mostly in the 80's while night lows are typically in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at French Pond drop into the 0's. And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do near French Pond. Duston Country Club Golf Course is a nice golf course close by, and if you're popping by from Concord, you won't                  be the only one. Why not camp at Rock' N Birch Campground if you're here at French Pond, and The Centennial is a wonderful place to get some rest. A great nearby hotel is The Henniker Motel; Contoocook River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by. French Pond gets a large amount of water; throughout November this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is January. On a pleasant day at French Pond you can take a hike along the Old Country Road, and there's a forest here called Ames State Forest. And if you're still looking for more outdoors exciting things just keep reading. A day on the slopes of Crotched Mountain is just what you need, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Keyser Pond.
