You'll hit upon a lovely lake called Lower Mountain Lake near French Pond, and Ammonoosuc Inn is a delightful place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Pond Ledge is an interesting spot to visit while at French Pond; whitewater paddling is fine on Wild Ammonoosuc River. Blackmount Country Club is a wonderful golf course nearby, and the Black Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Wild Ammonoosuc River, and needless to say Waterman Brook is a charming stream that is worth a visit. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors fun stuff the area right next door to French Pond has to offer.
