Take a side trip to Nicholls Brook, and going for a hike on the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail is always a fine adventure. If you came for an overnight stay Saddleback Campground is a great place to camp, and you can run the rapids of Suncook River. Why not camp at Hillcrest Campground if you're here at Freeses Pond, and if you need a place to stay Northwood Motel is a great choice.       This lake is so wonderful. The Oaks Golf Links is a golf course right next door to Freeses Pond, and nearby you discover the Campground Trail which is a perfect hiking trail. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Freeses Pond; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while Freeses Pond nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's. There are nice sites to explore along the                  Catamount Trail, and the sight of Meetinghouse Hill is gorgeous. The annual rainfall here at Freeses Pond is about average; November is the month that gets the most rain while January is mostly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. A great nearby hotel is Lake Shore Farm, and there's whitewater on Little Suncook for all you adrenaline junkies. That right there is loads already, but it carries on; Freeses Pond has it all.
