    A visit to Duck Pond is always a good idea. Litchfield State Forest is worth checking out; if the weather is nice, you can go for a hike along the Old Country Road. This lake is so wonderful. Merrimack River is a fine whitewater spot near Duck Pond, and you can stay the night at Tynsborough Campground. So much fun stuff near Duck Pond, just tremendous. The view of Rocky Hill from Duck Pond is scenic; perhaps you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Half Moon Pond  
   is just a very short distance away.
Duck Pond generally gets a great deal of precipitation; most of the rain falls during November, and the driest month is January. The warmest time of the year at Duck Pond comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Duck Pond dip into the 10's. There is a nice hiking trail near

Hit the slopes at McIntyre in close proximity, and why not a little side spree to Colby Brook. In case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Piscataquog River; the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail is a glorious hiking trail close by. Having a good time at Duck Pond is uncomplicated. Looking for something next to Duck Pond? Rocky Hill Pond is nearby. There's so much to do here at Duck Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Tyngsboro Campground is a nice place for that.
You'll meet a lot of people from Manchester-Nashua here. Golf can be played at Passaconaway Country Club; swamps can be such out of the ordinary spots, explore Grassy Pond if you're here at Duck Pond. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Bradford, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Nashua is a good choice.

Locust Pond

Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats....
