Why not stop by Dublin Pond if you're passing through these parts. Dublin Pond gets a common amount of precipitation; August is when you get the most rain here while February is usually the driest month. The summit of Beech Hill can be seen from Dublin Pond; get wet paddling on Contoocook River. Man, is there heaps of amusing stuff to do next to Dublin Pond. Everybody close by loves skiing at Mount Sunapee. Dublin Pond Dam is worth going to if you're here,

| | and Shattuck Golf Course is a splendid golf course nearby. There is a tremendous hiking trail right next door to Dublin Pond called the Pumpelly Trail; people from Keene love to come here. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Parker Trail is always a good adventure, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Sovereign Hotel. Lakes? Sure, Dark Pond is in the neighborhood, and glide down the rapids of Ashuelot River - South Branch in a kayak. | |

Summertime highs at Dublin Pond usually tend to be in the 80's; the night is a tad chillier of course, typically in the 50's. Through the wintertime highs are regularly in the 20's while Dublin Pond night low temperatures during the
wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Skatutakee Lake is a pleasant lake in close proximity to Dublin Pond, and nearby you stumble on the Cascade Link Trail which is a glorious hiking trail. Camping at Monadnock
State Park Campground is always a splendid experience, and E.F. Lane Hotel is a tremendous site to get some rest. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. Crotched Mountain is a magnificent local ski area; a good location to camp here at Dublin Pond is Emerald Acres.

I've seen great blue heron, ducks of many varieties, Canada geese and even two bald eagles. It's easy to surprise beaver early in the morning as well as muskrat and oppossum. I haven's spotted deer yet, but have heard them crashing off into the brush when I paddle too close to shore in the morning mists.... |
