What a nice lake Dream Lake is. Dream Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; most of the rain falls through November; the driest month is September. Any time is a great time at Dream Lake if you have a thing about the outdoors. Really delightful skiing awaits you at McIntyre, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Dream Lake; Wapack Trail is a fine local trail. This location is so good, just explore all the entertaining stuff to do in the neighborhood

| | of Dream Lake. Go for a hike on the Old Country Road, and right next door to Dream Lake you hit upon a golf course called Buckmeadow Golf Club. Pats Peak has great slopes and a friendly staff; here at Dream Lake you can distinguish Cricket Hill. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Piscataquog River, and do schedule some time to explore High Point if you have a chance.  | 14 miles away 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
