If you are traveling by, why not stop by Dow Pond. Take a hike on the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail, and Circle 9 Ranch Campground is a great local campground. This is a delightful area for people who like lakes. Pleasant Lake is a lake close by; if you like skiing, you're in luck; McIntyre is reasonably near. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Mud Pond is close to Dow Pond; lots of people from Laconia come here. Yeah, come here to Dow Pond

After a long day outdoors Red Roof Inn Loudon is a delightful spot to spend a night or two, and if you came for an overnight stay Blake's Brook Campground is a good spot to camp. Levi Hill is picturesque and can be made out from Dow Pond, and Griffin Brook is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at. in temperatures sink down into the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are regularly in the 20's with temperatures at Dow Pond dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. So many enjoyable things to do here at Dow Pond, too magnificent
to be true. A great place for whitewater paddling right next door to Dow Pond is Little Suncook, and you can have a splendid hiking adventure along the Catamount Trail. From a rain point of view Dow Pond is a quite typical spot; November
is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January. In case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Suncook River, and Dow Pond is right by the Campground Trail.

Sun River Campground
 | Have been here a couple of times and its the best! We go with a group and get all the sites near the river/stream (perhaps the river/stream is Sun River)and its wonderful!!! No need to worry about the kids and/or dogs bothering anyone and they can just play in the water, fish, look for frogs, float on their tubes, etc. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, and the facilities are clean!!! We've stayed here a number of years and I couldn't ask for more from a camp ground . . . you're camping but still have all the conveniences right at hand! The spot we get near the water is by far the best! Country store is close and, for those who are interested, I can even use my cell phone (only if necessary, of course)without getting cut off! Thumbs up to Sun River Camp Ground!!! ... |
