Take a side tour to Black Brook, and you can go for a hike on the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail. Summertime highs at Dorrs Pond usually tend to be in the 80's while overnight lows are usually in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Dorrs Pond. Near Dorrs Pond you stumble on the Onemile Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Merrimack River. This lake is so wonderful.

| | Going for a hike on the Catamount Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and there are plenty of folks from Manchester-Nashua here at Dorrs Pond. Man, is there a lot of fun things to do close to Dorrs Pond. McIntyre is a very popular ski area close at hand; Calef Lake Camping Area is a fine local campground. Why not camp at Twin Oaks Campground since you're here at Dorrs Pond, and not far from Dorrs Pond you'll stumble on Black Brook Pond which is a stunning | |

lake. Dorrs Pond gets a large amount of water; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Piscataquog
River; an interesting thing to stop by close to Dorrs Pond is Dorrs Pond Dam. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. If you're a golfer then a fine nearby course is Intervale Country Club; Fairfield Inn & Suites Hooksett
is a pleasant place to get some rest. There are other places here than Dorrs Pond, for example Goldfish Pond; dry warm beds await you at Clarion Hotel Business District.

Locust Pond
 | 16 miles away 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
