You'll meet a lot of people from Keene here. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Contoocook River - North Branch; if you need a site to stay Super 8 Gardner is a good choice. And that's not all you can do here at Dinsmore Pond. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Contoocook River,       and naturally Brush Brook flows through this vicinity. An average amount of precipitation falls at Dinsmore Pond; most of the rain falls through August, and the driest month is February. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Dinsmore Pond. Through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are usually in the 20's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Dinsmore Pond temperatures dip to the                  0's. There's so much to do here at Dinsmore Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Field'n Forest Recreation Area is a splendid place for that, and E.F. Lane Hotel is a great place to get some rest. If you came to camp Seven Maples Campground is a nice place to do that, and near Dinsmore Pond you find a golf course called Monadnock Country Club. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area in the vicinity of Dinsmore Pond has to offer. Going for a hike on the Parker Trail is always a perfect adventure, obviously you could also visit Beaver Pond since you're here; it's not far at all. Crotched Mountain has brilliant slopes and a friendly staff, and you can go for a hike on the Pumpelly Trail. Hit the slopes at Pats Peak nearby, and Half Moon Pond Dam has good water scenery. This lake is so wonderful.
