This lake is so wonderful. Bretton Woods is a very popular ski area close at hand; there are other sites here than Desolation Pond, for example Lakes of the Clouds. If you want a glorious time in the great outdoors just come on up to the White Mountains. Dry River Campground is a brilliant campground here, and from Desolation Pond you obtain a brilliant panorama of       Mount Eisenhower. These mountains rock, just look at all the entertaining stuff to do in the White Mountains. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Peabody River - West Branch, and do take a hike on the Mount Eisenhower Trail. The White Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water nearby, Monroe Brook is a stream you can visit while you're here, and Desolation Pond is a great spot to camp, Timberland Camping Area                  is a great spot. Desolation Pond gets a common amount of rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Wildcat, and Bretton Arms Country Inn is a glorious place to get some rest. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Hiking along the Mount Pleasant Trail is wonderful fun, and Desolation Pond is near Burt Ravine which is definitely worth a visit. Get soaked paddling on Dry River. Desolation Pond is right by the Crawford Path; if you need a place to stay Seasons at Attitash is a delightful choice. All through the summertime months at Desolation Pond temperatures are typically in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's.
