Dead River Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Stay the night at Timberland Camping Area. Through the months of summer at Dead River Pond highs are mostly in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are frequently in the 20's; all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Dead River Pond temperatures dip to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. There are some wonderful whitewater spots on Peabody River; Dead River Pond is a great site to visit for more than one day, White Birches Mountain Camping Park is a great site to camp nearby. Cedar Pond
 | I spent most of my summers growing up at cedar pond.We had our camp there and I remember the penny candy at the red and white striped store and the dog inky. There was also a dog named cedar that would visit all the camps in search of food. The lake would be freezing even in August and when we had to start a fire in the furnace the only wood we had to burn was obviously cedar and the smell was wonderful. And though the ''camp'' my Pepere had is no longer there, the wonderful memories are.... |
