But wait, there's more to do close to Dead Pond. A nice nearby hotel is Best Western Merrimack Valley, and a brilliant spot for whitewater paddling is Suncook River. Near Dead Pond you hit upon the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail which is a glorious hiking trail; after a long day outdoors Comfort Suites Haverhill is a pleasant site to spend a night       or two. Camping is available at Pine Acres Recreation; get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Little Suncook. A great place to camp here at Dead Pond is Pine Acres Family Campground. The sight of Flint Hill from Dead Pond is lovely; you can hit the slopes at Bradford close at hand. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Catamount Trail is always a glorious adventure, and Bunker Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop at. High                  temperatures at Dead Pond during the days of summer are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows during the wintertime for Dead Pond tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. There is a splendid hiking trail in close proximity to Dead Pond called the Campground Trail, and enjoy a round of golf at The Oaks Golf Links.
