If you need a location to stay Residence Inn Nashua Merrimack is a great choice, and if you came for an overnight stay Tynsborough Campground is a good site to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Near Darrah Pond you stumble on the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail which is a glorious hiking trail. Lakes are fine; Perch Pond is a lake that's in the vicinity of Darrah Pond. The summit of Rocky Hill can be spotted from Darrah Pond, and lovely scenery and delightful skiing is what you acquire at Bradford. on Merrimack River. On a magnificent day you can check out Grassy Pond, a swamp right next door to Darrah Pond, and you can go for a hike on the Catamount Trail. And that's not all you can do here at Darrah Pond. Gotta ski! McIntyre
is a great site to do that, and Tyngsboro Campground is a nice campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. A forest close to Darrah Pond is Litchfield State Forest, and whitewater paddling is good on Piscataquog River. A great
nearby hotel is Comfort Inn Merrimack, and during your visit here you'll meet some folks from Manchester-Nashua for sure. Going for a hike on the Old Country Road is always a tremendous adventure, and a golf course nearby is Whip-Poor-Will
Golf Club. All through the summertime at Darrah Pond highs are regularly in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 20's while Darrah Pond nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's.

Locust Pond
 | 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
