Many people like to go to Crystal Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The scenery at Massabesic Lake Dam close to Crystal Lake is stunning, and don't leave Crystal Lake without first going for a hike along the Campground Trail. Towneplace Suites By Marriott Manchester is a good location to get some rest, of course you could also pop by Massabesic Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. Very striking scenery and perfect skiing is what you get at McIntyre, and why not camp at Calef Lake Camping Area since you're here at Crystal Lake. are usually in the 20's while Crystal Lake overnight low temperatures all through the winter are in the 10's. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Bradford while you're here. And if that's not sufficient, there's
a load more to do close to Crystal Lake. Here at Crystal Lake you'll probably meet some folks from Manchester-Nashua, and Merrimack River is a perfect whitewater spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Little
Cohas Brook Reservoir is close to Crystal Lake, and an afternoon playing golf at Londonderry Country Club is always a diversion. Going for a hike on the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and if you came
for an overnight stay Twin Oaks Campground is a glorious place to camp. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Piscataquog River, and there are nice sites to explore along the Catamount
Trail. If you need a place to stay Best Western Executive Court Inn & Conference Center is a pleasant choice, and if you're here you have to go to The Basin. A quick visit to Long Pond Brook in the vicinity of Crystal Lake is a great idea, and if you like swamps you're in luck, Great Cohas Swamp is right nearby.

Locust Pond
 | 13 miles away 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
