Contoocook River Reservoir in fact is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. Get soaked paddling on Contoocook River, and beautiful scenery and fine skiing is what you get at Wachusett Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Contoocook River Reservoir, and if you want to hit the beach, Picnickers Beach is close at hand. Throughout the summer at Contoocook       River Reservoir highs are ordinarily in the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's with temperatures at Contoocook River Reservoir dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. After a long day outdoors Gardner Super 8 Motel is a pleasant place to spend a night or two, and on a good day it's a great idea to spend the day at Campers Beach. You could also pop by MacDowell Reservoir while                  you're here at Contoocook River Reservoir; it's nearby. What would winter be without some skiing at Crotched Mountain. There's so much to do here at Contoocook River Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Woodmore Campground is a good location for that.
