Throughout the warm days of summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Contoocook Lake with night lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Contoocook Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 0's. On a perfect day at Contoocook Lake you can take a hike along the Parker Trail, and camping is available at Emerald Acres. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps don’t sound that nice       but Dead Swamp in the neighborhood of Contoocook Lake is rather nice; Contoocook Lake is a location with many visitors from Keene. This lake is so wonderful. There is a pleasant hiking trail near Contoocook Lake called the Harling Trail; don't forget to take a pleasant little tour to Mountain Brook. So many amusing things close to Contoocook Lake, truly amazing. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can stop at Contoocook Lake Dam; the snow is pleasant                  at Wachusett Mountain. One of the overriding highlights of the surroundings of Contoocook Lake is Carter Hill. Lakes are such peaceful sites, why not pop by Cheshire Pond right next door to Contoocook Lake, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Crotched Mountain. Near Contoocook Lake you hit upon the White Dot Trail which is a delightful hiking trail, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Contoocook River. Playing golf is lots of fun at Shattuck Golf Course; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Ashuelot River - South Branch. After a long day outdoors Gardner Super 8 Motel is a magnificent site to spend a night or two, and Mountain Brook Reservoir is a delightful lake close by. Having a fine time at Contoocook Lake is easy. If you came for an overnight stay Woodemere Park Campground is a great location to camp, and if you need a site to stay Colonial Hotel is a magnificent choice.
