     There's delightful hiking along the Cobble Hill Trail, and naturally Scarritt Brook flows through this vicinity. Connecticut River Reservoir really is in the middle of a striking outdoors paradise. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Wild Ammonoosuc River; Warners Campground is a tremendous local campground. At Connecticut River Reservoir during the summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down  
   to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime highs are generally in the 20's; through the dark hours in the winter at Connecticut River Reservoir temperatures descend to the 0's.
You just can't picture the amount of outdoors fun things the area in the vicinity of Connecticut River Reservoir has to offer. Don't leave Connecticut River Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Chippewa Trail. Lakes? Sure, Upper Mountain Pond is in the vicinity, and there's
 
               whitewater on Wells River for all you adrenaline junkies. Golf can be played at St Johnsbury Country Club; Smutty Hollow is close at hand, and is a good place.
This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Roaring Brook Reservoir; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Burke Mountain is rather near. Connecticut River Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Green Mountains. Yep, outdoors entertaining things truly is abundant here in the Green Mountains. The snow is good at Lyndon Outing Club, and if you came for an overnight stay Moose River Campground is a tremendous spot to camp.
There's no way someone can get bored here in the Green Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn & Suites, and Comerford Station Dam is an interesting thing to check out. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Connecticut River Reservoir; Bear Den Trail is a wonderful local trail, and if you need a site to stay Fairbanks Inn is a pleasant choice. A typical amount of precipitation falls here at Connecticut River Reservoir; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February.

Ticklenaked Pond
We have been campers on Ticklenaked Pond for 30 plus years and love it's pristine water and oh yes....the loons. We have now been seasonal campers for 8 years and plan on many more. This is a wonderful family campground with much to enjoy such as a fishing derby for the kids, pot luck dinners, karaoke, live bands at least a couple of times during the season, paddle boats to rent, swimming, boating, hot showers and many, many, wonderful folks.
The proprietors, Harry and Sandy Cushing are great hosts. Come join us for a night, a weekend or for the season.
