There are glorious spots to discover along the Campground Trail, and you're almost certainly into lakes, Darrah Pond is one of those close by. At Common Pond through the summer months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are regularly in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Common Pond. This lake is so wonderful. | | need to camp here for a while, Tyngsboro Campground is a glorious spot for that, and since you're here you can play some golf at Whip-Poor-Will Golf Club. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Common Pond has to offer, you can camp at Tynsborough Campground, and there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Piscataquog River. in luck; McIntyre is rather near. Common Pond gets lots of water; most of the rain falls through November, and the driest of the months is January. This lake is so wonderful. If you're visiting Common Pond from Manchester-Nashua,
you won't be the only one, and if you need a spot to stay Residence Inn Nashua Merrimack is a wonderful choice. If only every place had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great earth it would be. A magnificent close by hotel
is Comfort Inn Merrimack, and going for a hike on the Catamount Trail is always a magnificent adventure. Lakes are pleasant; Perch Pond is a lake that's near Common Pond, and close by you come across the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail. Bradford is a glorious local ski area.

Locust Pond
 | 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
