Gotta ski! Abenaki is a great place to do that, and a day at Alton Town Beach is time well spent. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Wolfeboro Inn. Lakes? Sure, Coldrain Pond is in the neighborhood. Lots of folks from Laconia come to Chalk Pond, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone       but if it's for you then, we recommend Lovell River. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites ROCHESTER is a great choice, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Marchs Pond. What a location this is for outdoors folks. The view of Mount Eleanor from Chalk Pond is beautiful, and Chalk Pond is a great location to visit for more than one day, Roberts Knoll Campground is a great location to camp nearby.                  A good deal of rain falls at Chalk Pond; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. Through the warmest time of the year, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Chalk Pond. During the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are usually in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Chalk Pond temperatures plunge to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
