Ragged Mountain
I went to this mountain with my school and it was a really fun expiernce and I am planning to go back with my school some time soon.......ing the mountain property, the new owners invested over $2 million into the resort for renovations including 14,000 feet of new snow making pipe, 25 new energy efficient snow guns, new snow groomers, a new Wonder carpet lift for beginners, chairlift improvements including reviving lift service to Spear Mountain, base lodge renovations including new carpet, the repair of steps and outside brick walkways, the addition of seasonal lockers and an outdoor fire pit, and adding two new restaurants.
The renovations did not stop there. In 2008, Ragged Mountain announced the addition of a new upscale dining establishment, additional snow-making capacity, and three all new terrain parks including one of the only all natural terrain parks in the East.
The resort development group has a history of building resorts around the Western U.S. and Canada. Along with the substantial funds to help with improvements, the new owners hired ski industry veteran Bob Fries as president and general manager to implement the necessary changes. Fries has an impressive resume with 35 years in the ski resort ...

Orange Pond
12 miles away
Went there too in 75 and 77....I learned how to swim in Orange Pond, cooled off on hot summer days in Orange Pond, canoed, rowed and fished there. The ingress, at the time, was from Camp Magpies, from which there was a wonderful view of Mount Cardigan over the Pond....

Rock' N Birch Campground
12 miles away
this place is the bomb!!!...Another trip to RockNBirch and what an awsome time. Been there several times and it just keeps getting better.(?)...Excellent campground!Nice pond. Mostly seasonal sites but had primitive area out back for tenting. Very peacfull. My only complaint was with one of the annual campers. Real jerk, he kept saying Hey Man every five seconds...RockNBirch in Henniker is GREAT...Lots of fun at RockNBirch. The owner is great and insures his guests have a good time. Snowmobile right from R&B for awsome winter fun. Summer brings good Bass fishing right from campground. Autumn is almost as colorful as the campers at RockNBirch...stop in for some excitment soon....

Pillsbury Lake
17 miles away
We have lived on Pillsbury Lake for over 20 years and have enjoyed every minute. The countryside is beautiful! I walked our youngest child, Deborah Jean, in a stroller on our beautiful back roads. We have a wonderful family atmosphere of folks living here and a law enforcement that does a fabulous job keeping our town safe. We love to fish, swim and boat; and although we had a setback with the dam break for the summer of 2006, we look forward to seeing the repairs of our dam to once again restore our beautiful body of water. We have seen the population grow over the years with wonderful families ready to discover what we have here in Webster. Our four children all agree they thoroughly enjoyed growing up here....
