Carrigain Pond is one of the most inaccessible, difficult places to get into. It takes 7-9 miles one-way to get into, several of which is bushwhacking, as well as massive cliffs, rivers, and thicker forest then you will ever come across. Going here without being experienced is suicide. The Desolation Trail offers hiking at its best; a good site for whitewater paddling is Pemigewasset River - North Fork. From a rainfall point of view Carrigain Pond is a pretty typical place; the month with most of the rain is August; February on the other hand is the driest. Yeah, come up here to the White Mountains for a good time. You can never get enough of the perfect skiing       at Waterville Valley, and Carrigain Pond is right by the Hancock Notch Trail. Be careful coming to the White Mountains, you might not ever want to return home again. Lakes are such serene locations, why not stop by Shoal Pond in the vicinity of Carrigain Pond, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Silver Fox Inn is a great place to spend a night or two. There are other spots here than Carrigain Pond, for example Lily Pond. The warmest time of the                  year brings highs in the 70's to Carrigain Pond, and the nighttime is slightly cooler of course, typically in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Carrigain Pond fall into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Swift River in the neighborhood of Carrigain Pond; good skiing awaits you at Bretton Woods. Man, is there a heap of entertaining stuff to do close to Carrigain Pond. There's some flowing water nearby, Carrigain Branch is a stream you can stop by while here, and Seasons at Attitash is a tremendous spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Stillwater By-Pass is good fun. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Carrigain Pond has to offer, you can camp at Passaconaway Campground. Carrigain Pond is a fine place to visit for more than one day, Pass Campground is a fine place to camp nearby, and Mount Carrigain is simple to spot from Carrigain Pond.
