At Butterfield Pond during the warm months highs are in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Butterfield Pond dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. At Butterfield Pond you can catch       a glimpse of Ames Hill; camping is available at Idle Times Campground. If you came for an overnight stay Rand Pond Campground is a great place to camp, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Sunapee Lake Lodge. Have a glorious hiking adventure along the Pumpelly Trail, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Keene here. This lake is so wonderful. Butterfield Pond Dam is an attention-grabbing thing to check out, and Crotched Mountain is a very popular ski area                  in the vicinity. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Contoocook River - North Branch; don't forget to take a magnificent little journey to Cherry Brook. And that's not all you can do here at Butterfield Pond. Lakes are brilliant; Butterfield Pond is a lake that's in close proximity to Butterfield Pond; if you're here you can take a hike along the Farmers Trail. That right there is a lot already, but it carries on; Butterfield Pond has it all. Hiking along the Monadnock Sunapee Trail is pleasant fun. Butterfield Pond gets a normal amount of annual rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain while January is ordinarily the driest month.
