Bowers Pond is a lake worth visiting. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do in the neighborhood of Bowers Pond. Why not take a look at nearby Chase Brook if you're here at Bowers Pond, and don't leave Bowers Pond without first going for a hike along the Mitchell Hill Road. | | along the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail. There's so much to do here at Bowers Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Tyngsboro Campground is a good place for that. This lake is so wonderful. There are plenty of folks from Manchester-Nashua here at Bowers Pond, and since you're here you can play some golf at Passaconaway Country Club. some skis to your feet. A great place for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Bowers Pond is Merrimack River, and there are good sites to explore along the Old Country Road. This is a magnificent vicinity for people who
like lakes. Harris Pond is a lake in the neighborhood, and Piscataquog River is a great whitewater spot close by. At Bowers Pond through the summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. Highs throughout
the wintertime are mostly in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Bowers Pond. Lakes are pleasant; Supply Pond is a lake that's close to Bowers Pond, and Best Western Granite Inn is a great spot to get some rest.
If you're interested in hydro structures, you can explore Bowers Dam. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Bowers Pond has to offer, you can camp at Tynsborough Campground. And if you're still looking for more outdoors fun things just keep reading. The snow is splendid at Pats Peak.

Locust Pond
 | 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
