And that's not all you can do here at Blood Pond. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Cannon Mountain, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Nubble Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to stumble upon some friendly folks from Berlin here. There's so much to do here at Blood Pond that you need to camp here for       a while, Rogers Campground is a good spot for that. But wait, there's more exciting stuff to do in the White Mountains. After a long day outdoors Lancaster Motor Inn is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two, and in case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Ammonoosuc River. A fine close by hotel is The Spalding Inn, and you can hit the slopes at Bretton Woods in close proximity. Summertime highs                  at Blood Pond generally tend to be in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Blood Pond descend into the-10's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the White Mountains. The peak of Mount Pleasant can be made out from Blood Pond; you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Black Brook Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is great here at Blood Pond, you can go for a hike along the Turtle Brook Trail, and Israel River is a pleasant whitewater spot close by. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Blood Pond; August is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is February.
