There are some great whitewater spots on Contoocook River. Lakes are great; Bullet Pond is a lake that's near Black Reservoir. Super 8 Gardner is a pleasant place to get some rest; good skiing awaits you at Crotched Mountain. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. There are perfect places                  to discover along the Harling Trail; if you're here and you like golf, you can pop by Monadnock Country Club. Going for a hike on the Parker Trail is always a brilliant adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Black Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Wapack Trail, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Wachusett Mountain. During the warm days of summer at Black Reservoir temperatures are mostly in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's.
