You can never get enough of the fine skiing at Wachusett Mountain; drift down the rapids of Contoocook River in a kayak. Near Black Reservoir you come across the Wapack Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail; skiing at Crotched Mountain is one of those things you just must do. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Stony Brook, and                  close to Black Reservoir you find a golf course called Monadnock Country Club. This lake is so wonderful. On a magnificent day at Black Reservoir you can take a hike along the Parker Trail, unsurprisingly you could also stop at Black Reservoir since you're here; it's not far at all. The Harling Trail is a perfect hiking trail next to Black Reservoir. Black Reservoir is a good location of typical precipitation; during May this area sees the most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful.
