Camping at Calef Lake Camping Area is always a wonderful experience, and not far from Black Brook Pond you'll find Merrimack River Reservoir which is a charming lake. During the days of summer highs here at Black Brook Pond reach the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are frequently in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Black Brook Pond temperatures descend to the

take a hike along the Onemile Trail. Black Brook Pond is a wet place that gets lots of rainfall; November is the wettest month with most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful.
Golf can be played at Intervale Country Club, and you can hit the slopes at McIntyre around here. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Clarion Hotel Business District is a good choice; there is a delightful hiking
trail nearby called the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail. Having a fine time at Black Brook Pond is easy. Get wet paddling on Merrimack River. Lakes are great; Dorrs Pond is a lake that's in the vicinity of Black Brook Pond. There's
some flowing water nearby, Black Brook is a stream you can take a look at during your stay, and if you're going to from Manchester-Nashua, you won't be the only one.

Locust Pond
 | 16 miles away 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
