Bixby Pond is always a pleasure to visit. Camping at Circle 9 Ranch Campground is always a nice experience, and on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the Campground Trail. Not far from Bixby Pond you get some perfect water scenery at Bixby Pond Dam, and you can never get enough of the perfect skiing at McIntyre. This lake is so wonderful. Bixby Pond is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Blake's Brook Campground is a wonderful local campground;

| | do put some time aside to spend at Steeles Falls if you're here at Bixby Pond. Just can't get enough of Bixby Pond. Not far from Bixby Pond, you'll stumble on Chestnut Pond which is a wonderful lake; dry warm beds await you at Red Roof Inn Loudon. Some of the water close by flows, like Blake Brook, and the top of Barton Hill is easily made out from Bixby Pond. the one with the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The Catamount Trail is a good hiking trail in close proximity to Bixby Pond, and if you need a place to stay Fairfield Inn & Suites Hooksett
is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. There is a brilliant hiking trail in the vicinity of Bixby Pond called the Onemile Trail, and great skiing awaits you at Gunstock. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can
always visit close by Odiorne Pond, and you can run the rapids of Little Suncook. So much exciting stuff to do at Bixby Pond, so little time. Here at Bixby Pond you'll in all probability meet some folks from Laconia, and Suncook River
is a great whitewater spot close by. During the warm months here at Bixby Pond, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 20's; overnight lows during the wintertime for Bixby Pond tend to be in the 0's.

 | Have been here a couple of times and its the best! We go with a group and get all the sites near the river/stream (perhaps the river/stream is Sun River)and its wonderful!!! No need to worry about the kids and/or dogs bothering anyone and they can just play in the water, fish, look for frogs, float on their tubes, etc. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, and the facilities are clean!!! We've stayed here a number of years and I couldn't ask for more from a camp ground . . . you're camping but still have all the conveniences right at hand! The spot we get near the water is by far the best! Country store is close and, for those who are interested, I can even use my cell phone (only if necessary, of course)without getting cut off! Thumbs up to Sun River Camp Ground!!! ... |
