     Rocky Pond Brook Dam is not far at all from Beaver Brook Association Pond, and you can have a magnificent hiking adventure along the Old Country Road. Beaver Brook Association Pond is a pretty wet place regularly with a good deal of rain; most of the rain falls throughout November; September meanwhile is the driest month. Beaver Brook Association Pond in fact is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. Take a hike on the Mitchell Hill Road, and Beaver  
   Brook Association Pond is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Field & Stream Travel Trailer is a magnificent local campground. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors cool stuff the area close to Beaver Brook Association Pond has to offer. For you golfers we recommend close by Amherst Country Club.

Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats....

Ahhh good ol Heywood's used to be a great lake for swimming with rope swings that threw you out 80 feet into the water. but since then many things have changed people caught on to the fun nites out there , and police started showing up and now the whole place ''all the trees'' have been cut down  above the apple orchard, so no swimming there or you will be hit with a fine of up to 500$...
