Beard Pond is Browns Hill, and if you came to camp Autumn Hills Campground is a brilliant place to do that. Hit the slopes at McIntyre in the neighborhood, and whitewater paddling is fine on Piscataquog River. Don't try to stop me,
cause I'm havin' a pleasant time here at Beard Pond. If you need a spot to stay The Henniker Motel is a fine choice; some of the water close by flows, like Hillside Brook. If you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always
go whitewater paddling on Piscataquog River - South Branch, and if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a hike along the Wapack Trail. Looking for something near Beard Pond? Dodge Pond is close by, and camping at Cold Springs Camp

Pillsbury Lake
 | 13 miles away We have lived on Pillsbury Lake for over 20 years and have enjoyed every minute. The countryside is beautiful! I walked our youngest child, Deborah Jean, in a stroller on our beautiful back roads. We have a wonderful family atmosphere of folks living here and a law enforcement that does a fabulous job keeping our town safe. We love to fish, swim and boat; and although we had a setback with the dam break for the summer of 2006, we look forward to seeing the repairs of our dam to once again restore our beautiful body of water. We have seen the population grow over the years with wonderful families ready to discover what we have here in Webster. Our four children all agree they thoroughly enjoyed growing up here.... |

Powder Mill Pond
 | 16 miles away Very shallow but a great large moulth fishery....This has got to be the best kept secret in New Hampshire! A fantastic place to kayak or canoe. I've seen great blue heron, ducks of many varieties, Canada geese and even two bald eagles. It's easy to surprise beaver early in the morning as well as muskrat and oppossum. I haven's spotted deer yet, but have heard them crashing off into the brush when I paddle too close to shore in the morning mists.... |

Fries has an impressive resume with 35 years in the ski resort business including five years as owner and president of Bolton Valley, president of Stratton Mountain in Vermont, and president of Breckenridge in Colorado. With Fries as the new president, Ragged Mountain applied to Audubon International to become a Certified Silver Signature Sanctuary. Audubon International only accepts applications for this level of certification when it can be involved before the construction of infrastructure has begun in order to provide critical input in the design phase, and guidance as the design takes the form of construction. Ragged Mountain has been accepted into the Signature Sanctuary program. By the end of last season the resort was receiving numerous unsolicited positive testimonials about the new Ragged Mountain. Ragged Mountain's skier days increased substantially as people heard about the positive changes the resort had implemented. Opening day is anticipated to be November, 28.
