     This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Royce Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and The Basin is a great spot here at Basin Brook Reservoir. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the White Mountains. Near Basin Brook Reservoir you discover Charles Ravine which is a tremendous place to stop by, and camping at Basin Pond Campground is always a great experience. After a long  
   day outdoors Oxford House Inn is a glorious spot to spend a night or two, and camping is available at Basin Campground and Picnic Area.
During the summer months at Basin Brook Reservoir temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are generally in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Basin Brook Reservoir sink into the 0's. And that's not
 
               all you can do here at Basin Brook Reservoir. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Wild River, and Royalty Inn is a brilliant place to get some rest. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the White Mountains. You'll stumble on a gorgeous lake called Colton Brook near Basin Brook Reservoir, and you get a good vista of Birch Knoll from here.
This place, the White Mountains, has so much outdoors fun stuff. A visit to Basin Brook Reservoir wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Mad River Falls. That right there is a lot already, but it keeps on going; Basin Brook Reservoir has it all. Golf can be played at Lake Kezar Country Club, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Mount Meader Trail. If the weather is wonderful here at Basin Brook Reservoir, you can go for a hike along the Laughing Lion Trail, and you can never get enough of the great skiing at Wildcat.
You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Black Mountain if you're here; there's some flowing water close by, Basin Brook is a stream you can have a look at while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Basin Brook Reservoir, you could also stop by delightful Shell Pond, and there's whitewater on Saco River - East Branch for all you adrenaline kick people. From a rain point of view Basin Brook Reservoir is a pretty normal place; the wettest month of the year is frequently August, that's the one that rains the most, and January is when it's the driest.
This lake is one of the great places here in the White Mountains.

Shelburne Trail
Beautiful trail, mostly easy grades. Lots of running water and a few hidden waterfalls along parts of the trail. You hear no traffic, almost no jets, just the sound of wild land around you. There is a nice campsite in a hemlock grove at the height of land, at the intersection of the Kenduskeag Trail. An easy half-day walk between the Shelburne gate (Connor Brook) and the Wild River Camp Ground in Bean's Purchase....
