You'll need more than a day to look at everything Barrett Pond has to offer, you can camp at Hilltop Camp, and whitewater paddling is magnificent on Ashuelot River. This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Monadnock Sunapee Trail; the nice people of Keene like to hang out nearby. An average amount of precipitation       falls at Barrett Pond; the month with most of the rain is August, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors E.F. Lane Hotel is a great site to spend a night or two, and of course Gee Brook flows through this area. What a location this is for outdoors people. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Crotched Mountain. Best Western Sunapee Lake Lodge is a perfect spot to get some rest; the Farmers Trail offers                  hiking at its best. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things close to Barrett Pond. The scenery at Ashuelot Pond Dam in the vicinity of Barrett Pond is charming, and you can stay the night at Idle Times Campground. Through the summer months here at Barrett Pond, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Barrett Pond dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. The summit of Hubbard Hill can be made out from Barrett Pond, and not far from Barrett Pond you'll discover Russell Millpond which is a beautiful lake.
