This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Monadnock Sunapee Trail; perhaps you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Island Pond is just a very short distance away. An average amount of precipitation falls at Ayers Pond; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and       the driest month is January. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Pumpelly Trail, and camping at Idle Times Campground is always a nice experience. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Ayers Pond. The Henniker Motel is a good place to get some rest, and if you're a golfer then a great close by course is The Country Club of New Hampshire. Paddling on Contoocook River - North Branch is so much fun, and                  a delightful place to camp here at Ayers Pond is Rand Pond Campground. Avery Ledge is easy to spot from Ayers Pond, and hey, Gotta ski right? Mount Sunapee is a great place to do that. The Wilmot Trail offers hiking at its best, and a glorious nearby hotel is Best Western Sunapee Lake Lodge. Get covered with water paddling on Croyden Brook. High temperatures at Ayers Pond all through the warm days of summer are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's.
