Not far from Wickersham Reservoir you acquire some magnificent water scenery at Wickersham Dam, and not far from here you can enjoy the trees of Oglala National Grassland. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Wickersham Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Gilbert-Baker Campground; why not take a little trip to Dry Boggy Creek while you're here. | | a pleasant place to visit for more than one day, Toadstool Campground is a pleasant place to camp nearby, and Wickersham Reservoir is not the only location close by, Wickersham Reservoir Number 2 is a close by lake. Summertime highs at Wickersham Reservoir frequently tend to be in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's while Wickersham Reservoir overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's.

There's nice hiking along the Fort Robinson Trail; if you've had enough of Wickersham Reservoir, Eberspecher Reservoir is nearby. Around
Wickersham Reservoir you don’t get a lot of precipitation; during May this area sees the most rain while January is ordinarily the driest month.
