At Whitney Lake you don’t see much rainfall; the wettest month of the year is commonly May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is January. Playing golf is lots of fun at Legend Buttes Golf Course, and there are magnificent spots to explore along the Rock Butte Loop. Summertime highs at Whitney Lake generally tend to be in the 80's. For the duration of the       dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Whitney Lake are in the 0's. If you need a spot to stay Best Western West Hills Inn is a tremendous choice, and going for a hike on the White River Trail is always a nice adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Whitney Lake is a great location to visit for more than one day, Roberts Trailhead Campground is a great location to camp                  nearby, and you can go for a hike on the Roberts Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Little Cottonwood Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth taking a look at.
