Vakoc Dam is not far at all from Vakoc Reservoir, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Niobrara Trails. Not much precipitation falls here at Vakoc Reservoir; through June this area sees       the most rain while January is usually the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Vakoc Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Wildwood Acres Campground, and if you need a place to stay Yankton - Days Inn is a good choice.
