A journey to Scotts Bluff National Monument is recommended, and University Lake is a delightful site to visit for more than one day, Scottsbluff/Chimney Rock KOA is a delightful site to       camp nearby. University Lake is a location with many visitors from Scottsbluff; Scottsbluff Super 8 Motel is a tremendous place to get some rest. If you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Scottsbluff-Gering, Nebraska is a good choice, and you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Wildcat Hills Trails. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything University Lake has to offer, you can camp at Riverside                  Campground, and if you're here and you like golf, you can pop by Scenic Knolls Golf Course. Throughout the warmest time of the year here at University Lake, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's.
