Sutherland Reservoir is pretty dry regularly; May is the wettest month with most rain, and December is when it's the driest. You'll hit upon a pretty lake called East Sutherland Lake near Sutherland Reservoir; KJs Korner Campground is a tremendous campground nearby. Sutherland Reservoir is not far at all from North Platte, and if you came for an overnight stay Sutherland Reservoir Campgrounds is a nice location to       camp. This lake is so wonderful. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Oregon Trail Golf Course; after a long day outdoors Paxton Days Inn is a great location to spend a night or two. For the period of the warmest time of the year at Sutherland Reservoir highs are frequently in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and overnight lows at Sutherland Reservoir through the wintertime ordinarily                  dip into the 10's.
