Sponheinmer Reservoir is a privately owned reservoir in Lancaster County. Fishing is by pre-arrainged permission only from the current owners who live on site. The reservoir is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, smallmouth bass, grass carp and red ear sunfish. Special fishing regulations apply.

Nebraska has many beautiful lakes and Sponheinmer Reservoir is one of them. Not far from Sponheinmer Reservoir, you'll find Snyder Reservoir which is a beautiful lake; close by you come across the Wilderness Park Trails which is a glorious hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant place to camp here at Sponheinmer Reservoir is State Fair Park Campground, and there are nice spots to look at along the E T Mahoney Trails.
