After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Ogallala is a perfect place to spend a night or two, and the Lake Ogallala Trail is a great hiking trail nearby. A wonderful spot to camp here at Smith Lake is Spring Park Campground, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Ackley Lake. Smith Lake gets very little rain; May is the month that gets the most rain; the driest of the months is January.       Be careful coming to Smith Lake, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Stagecoach Inn; on a great day you can take a hike along the Ash Hollow Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Sand Creek Campground, and as expected, this is a fine region for folks who like lakes, Berry Lake is a lake in the vicinity. Throughout the warmest time of the year here at Smith Lake, high temperatures ordinarily                  reach the 80's with night lows in the 50's.
