That right there is heaps of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Sand Hills has it all. Shafer Lake is not the only site nearby, Brewer Lake is a nearby lake, and if you came to camp Hamburger Barn is a fine place to do that. This lake is so wonderful. You could also stop by Christ Lake if you're here at Shafer Lake; it's close by, and at Shafer Lake you can see Old Lady Beam Hill. It is very dry here       at Shafer Lake regularly; most of the rain falls during May, and January is when it's the driest. For the period of the days of summer at Shafer Lake highs are commonly in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Shafer Lake are in the 0's.
