Petersen Reservoir is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Pioneer Village RV Park and Campground is a brilliant local campground, and if you get bored of Petersen Reservoir you could also visit nearby Reiss Reservoir Number 1. This lake is so wonderful. Why not check out Petersen Dam since you're here, and the great people of       Kearney like to hang out nearby. Petersen Reservoir is pretty dried up regularly; May is when you get the most rain here, and January on the other hand is the driest.
