Through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Mudd Lake sink into the 0's. There are other sites here than Mudd Lake, for example Brush Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There's wonderful hiking along the Dismal Trail, and why not camp       at Whitetail Canoe Launch/Campground if you're here at Mudd Lake. Not far from Mudd Lake, you'll find Philpott Lake which is a wonderful lake, and Bessey Recreation Complex Campground is a splendid local campground. Not much precipitation falls here at Mudd Lake; May is the month that gets the most rain; January is when it's the driest.
