Why not camp at Bessey Recreation Complex Campground while you're here at Mudd Lake, and if you need a place to stay Rodeway Inn North Platte is a good choice. Throughout the months of summer at Mudd Lake highs are usually in the 80's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Mudd Lake. A lake close by is Philpott Lake, and camping is available at Whitetail Canoe Launch/Campground.

| | Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mudd Lake; Dismal Trail is a great local trail. Mudd Lake is a location that is quite dry ordinarily; the month with most of the rain is May while January is frequently the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Scott Lookout National Recreation Trail, as expected you could also stop by Brush Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. | |
