This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Berry Bridge Creek, and if you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Valentine is a perfect choice. Mill Pond gets very little precipitation; May is when you get the most rain here while January is regularly the driest month. Summer brings highs       in the 80's to Mill Pond. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Mill Pond are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. A great place in the neighborhood of Mill Pond is Government Canyon. There's so much to do here at Mill Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Valentine Motel and RV Park is a great location for that. Pierce Milling Plant Dam is worth a visit                  if you're here, and do check out Valentine Reservoir, it's a lovely lake. A scenic lake like Pierce Milling Plant Reservoir next to Mill Pond is a great place to stop at, and going for a hike along the Smith Falls Trails will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things at Mill Pond. Niobrara National Scenic River is one of the destinations right next door to Mill Pond that are good to go to.
