A great place to camp here at Merritt Reservoir is Powder Horn Area Campground, and why not camp at Merritt Reservoir Main Area Campground since you're here at Merritt Reservoir. Merritt Reservoir is commonly a rather dry place; June is the wettest month with most rain; the driest of the months is January. This lake is so wonderful. Why not stop by Cedar Bay also if you're here, and if you don’t have a problem       getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Snake River. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. For the period of the warm days of summer, highs commonly are in the 80's at Merritt Reservoir. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Merritt Reservoir dip into the 0's. You could also visit Merritt Reservoir                  since you're here at Merritt Reservoir; it's close by, and if time allows, Niobrara National Scenic River is a national park worth checking out.
