So much exciting stuff right next door to McConaughy Lake, definitely incredible. Lakes? Sure, Lake McConaughy is in close proximity. It is very dried up here at McConaughy Lake regularly; May is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. McConaughy Lake is close to Kingsley Dam which is a beautiful location beyond doubt worth       a visit. You'll need more than a day to look at everything McConaughy Lake has to offer, you can camp at Caddi Shack Campground. McConaughy Lake is a great site to visit for more than one day, Spillway Bay Campground is a great site to camp nearby, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Stagecoach Inn. Going for a hike on the Lake Ogallala Trail is always a delightful adventure, and after a long day outdoors Ogallala-Days Inn is a magnificent location                  to spend a night or two. At McConaughy Lake through the warm days of summer highs are in the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while McConaughy Lake night low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 10's.
