Camping at Honey Creek Campground is always a great experience, and brilliant water scenery is available at McCarthy Dam right next door to McCarthy Reservoir. Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! McCarthy Reservoir rocks! There are splendid locations to look at along the Copper Creek Connector Trail, obviously you could       also explore Exley Reservoir since you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Fairfield Inn & Suites Omaha Downtown is a pleasant location to spend a night or two, and there is a good hiking trail nearby called the Boyer Chute Trails. McCarthy Reservoir is fine enough to spend more than a day at, NP Dodge Park Campground is a fine local campground, and a lake nearby is Jungbluth Reservoir. McCarthy Reservoir is a                  good place of normal rainfall; the month with most of the rain is June while January is regularly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Summer brings highs in the 80's to McCarthy Reservoir; through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at McCarthy Reservoir are in the 10's.
